Fergalicious

Does anyone else feel compelled to correct people when they get their pop-culture history wrong?  I don't mean to be rude but it constantly annoys me when someone is deep into a story that they think is meaningful and they get all their facts wrong.

For example, while hanging out with friends the other day this guy starts running off some spiel about the Packers vs. Steelers in the Super Bowl. He starts ranting about Lady Gaga messing up the song during half-time.  The minute he said that my brain starts screaming "It was Fergie! Not Lady Gaga!"   Do I let it go or correct him on the spot?  Is it a librarian-type compulsion to get the facts right or do I have a deeper seeded need to always be right?
